A long shift, a hard workout, or a long run takes more out of you than water, and it’s easy to forget to replace what you lose. Cadence Hydration is the electrolyte drink I use for that. The can I drink is sugar-free and caffeine-free, and I have it after heavy sweat sessions.
I learned this the hard way. Every week, I:
- Strength train and run at least 10 hours
- Work at least 40 hours on my business
- Stand for 35+ hours as a server
For me, it showed up as cramping the moment I lay down to sleep.
WHO Cadence Hydration Is For
If you’re on your feet a lot and training hard, you lose water and minerals through sweat. That’s the gap Cadence Hydration fills. It’s for people who put real physical demand on their bodies day after day, not just at the gym: servers, construction crews, outdoor workers, car washers, runners, and lifters.

WHAT Is Cadence Hydration
Cadence’s RTD (ready-to-drink) Electrolyte Drink is a sparkling can with zero sugar and zero caffeine. The label lists 500 mg of sodium, 190 mg of potassium, and 30 mg of magnesium per can. It comes in a 12-pack of 355 ml cans, and my favorite one is citrus.
Cadence also makes sachets, which are powder packets you mix into regular water. I’ve only tried them a couple of times, and they tasted saltier to me. The variety pack includes an Energy option that has caffeine, so check which one you’re grabbing.

WHY Does Cadence Hydration Matter
When you sweat, you lose more than water. The American College of Sports Medicine says sweat carries electrolytes too, and that after a hard session the goal is to replace both.
I’ll be straight with you: nobody fully knows why cramps from exercise happen. Researchers still argue about it, and muscle fatigue is one of the leading explanations. So I can’t say electrolytes were my problem. What I can say is what changed. Once I started drinking Cadence Hydration after heavy sweat sessions, the cramping backed off, recovery got easier, and I slept better.
That’s my experience, not a promise. Food, water, and sleep matter too, and Cadence doesn’t replace water. I use it on top of it.

WHERE To Get Cadence Hydration
I buy all my Cadence on Amazon. Here’s what I use:
The can is my go-to, and the sachets are the powder option.
The jug I fill twice a day: HydroJug 64oz Half Gallon

WHEN To Use Cadence Hydration
The can says “Daily Hydration,” but I don’t drink it every day. I save it for heavy sweat days, and for days I’m behind on water. Here’s what tells me it’s time:
- A soaked shirt: if my shirt is soaked through after a workout, I drink a can.
- A long run: if a run goes past 4 miles, I drink a can.
- A long, busy shift: if I barely had time to drink water, I drink a can.
- An unfinished jug: I fill my jug twice a day. If I don’t finish it by the end of the day, I drink a can to help make up the gap.

Cadence doesn’t replace water, so I still try to finish my jug. I go by these signs, not a schedule.
Final Word
I met Cadence’s founder, Ross Mackay, at an event in LA in September. I got some free product there, but I buy my own Cadence on Amazon because I love the product and believe in the brand.

I asked him what advice he’d give someone just starting to build daily discipline. He said:
“…daily discipline doesn’t mean maximalism. It means just taking one step forward every single day. Sometimes take a step back, right, left, forward, but you’re always moving, always showing up. You’re gonna progress in life; don’t get caught up in other people; focus on yourself, focus on your own rhythm. That’s why the rhythm of daily discipline exists. Everyone has their own rhythm in life. So fall in love with the process; find the discipline. Discipline will always outweigh motivation, right? So fall in love with the process and find your own discipline.”
That’s how I think about this. It’s not a dramatic fix, just one small habit that adds up. Drink your water, replace what you sweat out, and show up tomorrow.
